Services: Data Management & Biostatistics

Cato Research's data management specialists know that one key to your product's success is robust, high-quality data. Our quality control checks are inherent in the processing of data in all stages of computerization and cleanup.

Our highly qualified and experienced statisticians and programmers create statistical plans, conduct analyses and assist in the preparation of reports that conform to regulatory authorities' guidelines for submissions. In using cutting-edge statistical database tools, we make sure that your data are accurate, and are analyzed and presented in the most appropriate format to ensure the highest probability for success.

Electronic Data Management

Electronic Data Capture (EDC) will allow you to have live, up-to-date information on enrollment and study progress, including data entry and data queries. Using EDC can significantly reduce data queries (through real time edit checks), speed up data collection, quickly identify data issues or trends, and importantly, shorten time to database closure. Users can quickly obtain study information related to date of entry, query status, data modifications and new entries in an easily accessible study reporting tool. Monitors can review subject data entered in the eCRF before they physically visit sites and can generate notes offsite that can be resolved by site staff before their site visits. Full tracking of all queries, including returned comments and final resolution, is contained within the EDC system.

Through a unique technology transfer agreement with Merge eClinical, Cato Research is able to perform programming and management services in-house to ensure our sponsors receive the most timely service throughout the trial.

Using Merge eClinical’s system, data is communicated securely via industry-standard 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption and there is username and password security authentication to prevent unauthorized access. Access to data is privilege-based according to a user’s role as an investigator, monitor or read-only user and access can be controlled at the trial, site or eCRF page level. All servers are equipped with hardware redundancy to protect against common hardware failures and are also protected against fire, flood, and electrical problems.
